An original painting by Ronei, from THE MEMORY COLLECTION, a collection of six paintings cataloging irreplaceable memories with my Mother and Father - reflections of fading memories and a joyous connection. Transcendent roses, vibrantly blossoming and simultaneously melting represent the vitality and fragility of life itself. I have dug a little deeper with the titles of these paintings, transcribing each title into full story format, transporting you with me on this journey. (scroll to the bottom for story)
Acrylic on canvas. 30”x24”x2”
Varnished, signed, sides painted a complimentary solid colour, unframed, ready to hang.

Why the title? Stories form who we are. This is my story...As long as I can remember my mother and I loved holding hands. Except for one thing. She would get her nail under mine and flick my nail up over and over again. “ click, click, click” I’m sure with this was just one of those nervous ticks. But it drove me bonkers by the time I was a teenager. And I’d yell, “stop it!” However I have a whole new perspective now. She doesn’t do it anymore. There are random parts of her brain that are deteriorating from her Alzheimer’s - funnily enough she no longer has that habit. It’s surprising the little things that you miss. Even the things that drove you crazy.
